Material Girl

Mine turn to set the dare over on the
DCM

'Material girl'

I would love you all to design a card inspired by a design on clothing - I know we have done inspired by clothing before but I was thinking more about being inspired by the pictures/textures/slogans/quotes on tshirts - not just limited to the colours/patterns on materials.(although, of course, they are perfectly acceptable to!'

I'm thinking ruffles,stitching/motives - but of course you can be inspired by just colours/designs if you prefer - it would be great if you have a picture of the clothing also? Hopefully I have not made it a too difficult of a challenge?

I had in mind what I wanted to make for ages- but as usual - with the pressures of running a busy home, ferrying boys to school/hockey/tennis and soccer- working full time - the only time I had was a couple of hours tonight.........and the stress was felt by all ! Andy ended up taking the photos for me at 9.50 tonight ! (10 mins till launch)

Hopefully we will get a better picture in the morning light - which I will load tomorrow- which happens to be our WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - 18 years !!!:) which I have not made a card for yet !! (blush)

Over on the DCM blog its another Friday challenge :) Its Nat's turn to set the dare and this is what she has dared........

August 1st marks Girlfriend's day - a day to celebrate that very special friend in your life, and Sister's day just happens to fall on August 2nd.

So the choice is yours, you can make a lovely card to give to your best friend, or send something to your sister - or maybe your best friend is like a sister to you, she could even actually be your sister! ;o)

Dont forget to go check out the rest of the design teams cards over on the DCM blog and also check out the DCM facebook page and become a fan :)

My slight silhouette........

Hi all !
Its Friday again ! We have a great dare this week from over on the DCM blog- set by our lovely design team member - Rein. :)

Rein has asked for silhouettes.....
You could use a cut-out image, a stamped image or whatever you like to make them, but we'd like to see at least one silhouette on your card this week.

Ok- so I 'adapted' the theme a little and reversed the silhouette- sort off .....
heres mine- I love the black and white paper- watch this space for more cards using this paper :)

Dont forget to go check the DCM blog and see what the other design team members have created- they are wonderful !

used: Teresa collins paper- Mr and Mrs Damask
CC basic card stock
Cricut die cut flowers
buttons,
red and black ribbon
sticker cafe rub ons
Versa color inking
Happy crafting everyone ! :)

Thats 'ice' !

Hi everyone !

Quicker than a blink the next Friday spins around and we arrive at our next challenge over on the DCM blog ! This weeks challenge has been set by our design team member, Keryn.

Here's Keryns request 'Now it's my turn to announce the Dare for the week. As it's rather cold over in the Southern Hemisphere right now I want you to share in the chill. Make your cards using the theme of 'Ice and Snow'. You could showcase winter sports, icy colours or even icy emotions on your card and it would fit the theme beautifully'

This was a tricky one for me - My first thought- especially with Mid Winter Christmas celebrations just around the corner here int eh Southern Hemisphere. So my first thought was Christmas - problem is I havent got much Christmansy stash at the moment- and as I am mostly housebound at the moment with a bad back- I had to be a bit inventive!

Once again my cricut came to the rescue and I came up with this

The rest of the design team have come up with some beauties, so make sure you pop along to their blogs and check out everyone elses designs. Don't forget you can now also become a fan of the DCM on facebook too !!

Now last week the design team was kindly sponsored by Nikki Savils as such a generous sponsor we, the design team had a few goodie bags of stash to of our own to give away :) We all love getting stash in the post and I am happy to announce that the winner of my particular goodie bag is............

The very talented Sal (MrsK) !!!
Well done Sal ! Congratulations :) Many thanks also to everyone else who took the time to leave a comment on my blog- they are all very much appreciated !
Sal- drop me an email with addy and I'll put a little parcel in the post to you all the way from NZ ! :)

And lastly, I'm not the only one in my family who has been creative this week, my little boy (8 years) has created a mask, which now proudly hangs on the wall in our hallway. Very cool and colourful x

Have a good weekend all and I look forward to seeing your creations for this weeks dare !
